This morning it snowed. We got maybe 1/2", if that. It began to melt around noon, but the temperature took a nosedive soonafter and now pretty much everything you see is ice. Underneath the remaining snow is also ice. I almost bit it getting out of my car, as I immediately stepped on more black ice.

Luckily, the locals are doing well. They are driving very cautiously. I even saw a 100-series Land Cruiser take the slowest left-hand turn in history, so as not to slide into my lunchbox parked on the shoulder... Or at least I’d like to think so.

I’m jealous. We only got a few snowflakes today. The 55 on blizzaks is crazy fun. But side streets still have enough ice and snow to have fun.

I’m thankful we just got a few stray flurries in Seattle. Haven’t been any further north than the King-Snohomish county line lately. Pavement remains bare and dry.

Just drove about 30 miles doing 25-35 mph on the highway because it was mostly ice. It’s rather nerve wracking when steering inputs have no effect, anything more than a feather-light touch on the brake activates ABS, and even the most gentle throttle application results in wheel spin.

I’m even running Blizzaks.

That’s how it is everywhere here. Freezing rain at 29 degrees air temp. It’s sketchy to walk on, but very fun to drive in (if you know what you are doing and are careful).

Getting nasty here in Chicago tonight. My wife and I had a rare night out. Coming back on the interstate was slow and slick going.
